Legacy Hearings Ontario-Japan — July 2025

This year’s Legacy Hearings brings together voices from Ontario and young people from various prefectures in Japan, alongside adult stakeholders from Manitoba, Ontario, British Columbia, and Alberta. The two-day dialogue creates a space for individuals in and from the care system—as well as those impacted by it—and system workers to share stories, foster mutual understanding, and develop actionable strategies to improve the care system. The discussions will inform a comprehensive legacy document that highlights the rights and needs of people with care experience, supporting ongoing advocacy and accountability within the child welfare system.
